West Tennessee
West Tennessee is defined by the Mississippi River on the west and the Tennessee River on the east. It includes the major city of Memphis (see above), and wide expanses of low lying farm land leading to the west and the delta region. The region is famous for its musical legacies and its BBQ. Tina Turner, Blues legend Sleepy John Estes, and many others originate from this part of the state. It also includes the major battlefield at Shiloh, and the ancient Mississippian mound site at Pinson Mounds.
