Smoky Mountains
The Great Smoky Mountains are a range of the ancient Appalachian mountains that line the Tennessee-North Carolina border. Named for the foggy atmosphere that hangs low in the mountains, the Smokies are home to the nation’s most visited national park, and the largest protected area of old growth hardwood forest in the US. The mountains are a playground for hikers, photographers, campers and people who love the outdoors.
