Black and white photograph of old stone columns stacked in the basement of Drayton Hall since at least the 1870s. Someone had them stacked there for storage, and they were never retrieved. Drayton Hall, built in the English Palladian style in 1738 near the bank of the Ashley River, was a grand country home for the wealthy Drayton family.
