Photographer Keith Dotson Releases a New Book Celebrating the Abandoned Places on Route 66
Photographer Keith Dotson, known for his dramatic black and white photographs of abandoned places, has released a new book about Route 66 that sticks to his theme.
Sixty-Six Photographs of Route 66 (2026, 72 pages) features black and white photographs focused on the abandoned, forgotten, and isolated stretches of the what Steinbeck nicknamed "the Mother Road."
The book features brief histories of some of the featured locations, and many facts about Route 66.
The book was designed and written by Keith as well. The goal was to make the most beautifully printed book possible, while also keeping the cover price as affordable as possible.
Books truly are one of the most affordable ways to own Keith Dotson's work.

2026 marks the centennial of the 'Mother Road'
The new book, Sixty-Six Photographs of Route 66, was published in 2026 to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Route 66. When completed in 1938, it became the first national highway to be fully paved.
