A new book from Arcadia Publishing, Haunted Highways of Virginia, written by Michael Kleen, features a section about Keith Dotson's experiences while making photographs in the ghost town of Union Level, Virginia.
Dotson was interviewed for the book in August, 2025, and the book also drew material from Dotson's video interview with Union Level native Jimmy O. Thompson, who owns several of the remaining “abandoned” buildings that still stand in Union Level. That interview can be seen on YouTube here.
The Union Level section of Haunted Highways of Virginia begins on page 119.
