Super-talented Danish musician and singer Ida Gard has selected “The Enchanted Forest,” a black and white landscape photograph featuring a mysterious forest in fog, to serve as the stage backdrop for her tour of Germany and Denmark this Spring.
The photograph, reproduced on fabric at the size of three meters x two meters will be enhanced by varying light effects to suit the nature of the performance. The tour will support Ida’s new album, and the performances will be themed around the novel Popular Music From Vittula by Mikael Niemi. The book is set in the North of Sweden.

Above: Performer Missincat sings on the stage in Essen with my photo backdrop visible in the back. The vibrant lighting makes it look so vivid.
Above: Ida Gard posted this quick video of the backdrop fluttering, prior to the tour.
Best of luck to Ida and her band on the tour, with many thanks for taking my work along on the road. Photographs of the stage from the tour will be posted here as they become available.
Here’s a sample from Ida Gard’s YouTube page. Enjoy.
