New photographs: Expressively curled winter grasses on graphic black backgrounds

Fine art photographer Keith Dotson has released two striking new macro images of curled and twisted blades grass

Keith Dotson has released two companion photographs of natural subjects shot against a striking black background. The new photographs of small, curled blades of dry winter grass aim to make them appear sculptural, even monumental.

Each of the two blades of grass depicted in the photographs are slightly wider than one-quarter inch at their widest point, yet these photographs can be printed to 60 inches wide. Keith's goal with these photographs was to make the nearly invisible visible  to take something so mundane as a blade of dried grass, and to let it sweep across the frame like a giant brush stroke.
