Keith Dotson speaks to the Professional Photographers of Middle Tennessee in Nashville

The event was a rare public speaking appearance for Keith

Fine art photographer Keith Dotson was invited to give a presentation to the Professional Photographers of Middle Tennessee (PPMT) in Nashville on June 11, 2024. In spite of nerves and a fear of public speaking, he was happy to oblige, and was greeted by an overflow crowd or interested, friendly listeners, with plenty of questions throughout the presentation.

His talk, called "Keith Dotson: A Career in Black and White" covered his background and early influences, how he came to learn photography, when his professional career began, and his milestones of development along the way -- all with an emphasis on the importance of photographic prints.

The PPMT meets monthly at The Pixel Connection camera store in Nashville.

For Keith, who professed his naturally shy and reticent personality in the course of the speech, the night was a delightful opportunity to talk about his favorite topic -- photography -- while also networking with many very kind and talented photographers who came from from as far away as Clarksville, Tennessee.
