Fine art photographer Keith Dotson's new pictures of classic American automobiles turning to rust in a southern pine forest
There's a place in the woods, a former junkyard that operated for 70 years, starting in the 1930s, where some of the most beautiful machines ever built for the American road are rusting away among the pine needles.
Classic cars are stacked upon each other. Trees are growing through the engine compartments of decaying antique trucks. School buses grow bright green moss on their yellow exteriors. Engine blocks and rusty gears hide among the tall grass.
For a photographer who specializes in black and white, the texture of the rust on the sexy curves of these classic beauties is pure joy.
