Video Portfolio: Black and white photographs of abandoned downtown Adams, Tennessee

The tiny town of Adams lies about 45 minutes north east of Nashville, and is famous as the home of the famous and allegedly true story of the Bell Witch, the events of which took place only a mile or two from where these old buildings still stand. The Bell Witch haunting happened in 1817 — 200 years ago at the time of this posting — but these derelict buildings where built later, probably in the late 1800s.

In the case of the JE Winters Dry Goods structure, the Mason's stone gives us a date of Oct 1897.
