Saying goodbye to one of America's great trees

The old tree at McFadden's Farm has been cut down

OK, so most of the world doesn't know about or even care about this tree, but it's actually a very significant tree . . . or it was a very significant tree. It has been cut down.

Here is my memorial to the historic old cemetery tree, filmed in the moment as I discovered that the tree was gone. In the video, I recap some of the multi-layered reasons this tree was important.

 

Below are two of the photographs I made of this historic old tree, before it became storm damaged and ultimately was felled.
