New Collection: Black and White Photographs of Rusty Old Railroad Cars

Fine art photographer Keith Dotson announces a new collection of photographs of rusty historic train cars

Keith recently explored a location where a collection of rusty, retired old railroad cars sit on tracks, waiting for passengers that will never come again. Some of these cars were dining cars, like those seen in classic old movies — Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint in North by Northwest is just one great example.

Black and white photography is particularly well-suited for heavily textured subjects like these rusty, crusty old trains. Here, Keith pictures the trains like flat panels, much like an abstract canvas, emphasizing the relationship between design elements like rectangles and circles, and of course, the delicious textures.
